Common questions:

How do anti-wrinkle injections work?

Anti-wrinkle injections work by blocking nerve signals to the muscles, which prevents them from contracting. This relaxed state smooths out wrinkles and prevents new ones from forming in treated areas.

How long do anti-wrinkle injections last?

The effects of anti-wrinkle injections typically last around 3 to 4 months, but this can vary depending on factors such as the individual's metabolism and the dosage administered.

Are anti-wrinkle injections safe?

When administered by a qualified and experienced practitioner, anti-wrinkle injections are generally safe. However, like any medical procedure, there are potential risks and side effects, such as temporary bruising, swelling, or drooping of nearby muscles.

Is there downtime after getting anti-wrinkle injections?

Most people can resume their normal activities immediately after treatment, but some may experience mild redness or swelling at the injection sites. It's advisable to avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area for a few hours and to avoid strenuous exercise on the day of treatment.

Are anti-wrinkle injections painful?

Discomfort during the procedure is usually minimal, as the injections are administered using a very fine needle. Some people may experience mild discomfort or a sensation similar to a mosquito bite. Topical numbing creams can be used to minimise any discomfort.

Who is a good candidate for anti-wrinkle injections?

Good candidates for anti-wrinkle injections are generally in good overall health and have realistic expectations about the results. They should also have specific concerns related to dynamic wrinkles that can be addressed with this treatment.

Are there alternatives to anti-wrinkle injections?

Yes, there are alternative treatments for addressing similar concerns, such as dermal fillers for static wrinkles, laser therapy for skin rejuvenation, polynucleotide for elastin production or surgical procedures like facelifts for more significant aging concerns. Your Injector can help determine the best option for your specific needs and goals.
